Head Teacher’s Message

On behalf of Bubulo Secondary School, a warm welcome is extended to all visitors to this website and to our wider school community. Bubulo Secondary School is a government grant‑aided, Church of Uganda day school located on the scenic slopes of Mt Elgon in Manafwa District, offering both Ordinary and Advanced Level curricula in Arts and Sciences. Since its founding in 1983 by visionary community leaders, the school has remained committed to providing accessible, affordable and holistic secondary education to learners from diverse and often modest backgrounds.

Our heritage and identity
The school stands on land generously provided by St Mark Church of Uganda and Bubulo Mixed Primary School, reflecting deep roots in faith and community service. Over the years, Bubulo Secondary School has nurtured many students into responsible and successful citizens in various professions, supported by a vibrant alumni association, the Bubulo Secondary Old Students Association (BUSOSA).

Academic and co‑curricular excellence
Bubulo Secondary School offers a broad and balanced curriculum at both O‑Level and A‑Level, with a strong focus on academic excellence, character formation and discipline. Teaching and learning are complemented by co‑curricular activities such as sports, music, dance and drama, aimed at developing learners’ talents, leadership skills and teamwork for holistic education.

Infrastructure and ICT advancement
The school is steadily strengthening its facilities, including an emerging science laboratory that will greatly enrich practical teaching and learning in science subjects. ICT integration has been enhanced through the establishment and equipping of a computer laboratory, supported in part by generous contributions from BUSOSA, enabling students to acquire essential digital skills for the modern world.

Our dedicated staff and community
Bubulo Secondary School is served by a committed team of teachers and support staff who work closely with the Board of Governors, parents, the Church and alumni to provide a safe, nurturing and values‑driven learning environment. Together, this community strives to uphold the school motto, “For Knowledge and Discipline,” and to ensure that every learner is guided towards excellence in both conduct and performance.

Appreciation of Government support
The school gratefully acknowledges the support of the Government of Uganda, through the Ministry of Education and Sports, in promoting access to quality secondary education, including Universal Secondary Education initiatives and investment in school infrastructure and staffing across the country. This partnership strengthens Bubulo Secondary School’s capacity to serve the youth of Manafwa District and beyond, and aligns the school’s efforts with national goals of expanding equitable, relevant and affordable education.

Invitation to students, parents and partners
Prospective students are invited to join a school community that encourages hard work, integrity, innovation and service. Parents, guardians, alumni, development partners and other well‑wishers are warmly welcomed to collaborate with Bubulo Secondary School through mentorship, scholarships, infrastructural support and other forms of partnership that advance quality education for all.

For Knowledge and Discipline.
